Problem installing mod_muc_admin

Ejabberd 2.1.11 is running nicely, thank you very much for all the work put into this project.

However, I need some more control over MUC's.
When I install mod_muc_admin, I get the following error:

The node ejabberd@server is starting with status: started
ejabberd is not running in that node

And in ejabberd.log

After Install on Ubuntu getting error with config permission being denied

So I'm not very good at using Ubuntu yet, but after doing the standard install through the package system, whenever I try to use "sudo service ejabberd live" or other variations to start the server it doesn't work and I get the following error:

web_admin empty response from server when logging in as admin

Hi when I login in as admin user into web_admin i get an empty reply from server. If i login with any other user i only see virtual hosts.

I have

{acl, admin, {user, "admin", "localhost"}}.

no voice/video with jitsi

hello

im not shure if its an installation or a configuration problem.
im using an ejabbered server (2.1.10) in a debian 7 installation
in my private lan everything works perfect ( server outside of lan )
but over internet i can only chat/filetransfer ( testet with different connections )
anyone knows that problem .. realy need help,

ejabberctl status returns error on fresh install

ejabberdctl status returns the follwing error on a fresh install of Arch Linux:

Clean Remove Clean Install - There has to be a way

I was installing ejabberd for the first time last night and apparently I screwed the cfg file up. I tried to delete everything and re-install but I think I made things worse. Initially I was able to get it running and access it via the web console. I never did log into the web console however.

I am on CentOS and I installed via yum. I deleted everything related to ejabberd including the /var/lib/ejabberd/spool contents thinking that this would make it better. My question is 2 prong:

I've tried installing the latest code from source for both erlang and ejabberd but still no go. I suspect erl doesn't like something in my network setup.

Problems with registering my first user from the command line on ubuntu

I'm setting up an ejabberd server on an Ubuntu LTS 12.04. The community help wiki says I just need to:

1 Install the package
2 Edit the hosts configuration in ejabberd.cfg
3 Update the admin user's definition
4 Restart the server
5 Register the admin user from the command line

It's that last step that doesn't work. Here's what I get:

$ sudo ejabberdctl register ejabberd semperubisubsubi.org <password>
Can't register user ejabberd@semperubisubsubi.org at node 'ejabberd@semperubisububi.org': not_allowed

Adium connect to local ejabberd server on OS X Mountain Lion

I am new in ejabberd and XMPP in general. I have setup ejabberd on a mac running Mountain Lion.
Unfortunately when I try to connect to the local ejabberd server using Adium client, it gives the error "**Server closed the connection**".

Below is the ejabberd log:

Trouble with eJabberd clustering.

Hi,

I'm tearing my hair off trying to get eJabberd clustering working. I have two eJabberd servers running behind a load balancer, the publically visible hostname is:
jabber.example.local

and the server names are:
node1.example.local
node2.example.local

eJabberd is installed as the user "ejabberd" on both servers, and running in /u01/ejabberd-2.1.13/

I configured both servers with host as below:

{hosts, ["jabber.example.local"]}.

Ejabberd fails on start

Hi, i try to get ejabberd running on debian 6.0.7 server.

When installing everything goes well until the last step when ejabberd starts. The same happens whey I run service ejabberd start command. The result is the following:
Starting jabber server: ejabberd............................................................ failed.

Current way to log chats to DB

Hi,
I'm stuggling with this problem:
I would like to log chats to PostgreSQL database. I have found that mod_logdb may be solution for me, but documentation about this module are obsolete and links and svn repos are unreacheable.
Please, can anybody tell me, how to log chats in year 2013?

Hello,

I'm trying to run ejabberd on Centos 6. I followed the steps in doc but an error keeps showing. For some reason, library libyaml-0.so.2 is failing to load. Here it is where libyaml-0.so.2 is located at:

[root@ip-10-72-132-52 ~]# find / -name libyaml-0.so.2 -exec ls -l '{}' \;

Can't register user at node ejabberd@localhost

HI ,

I installed ejabberd.2.1.11 in in Linux server with erlang "Erlang R15B01". Now ejabberd is up and running in the node localhost.

ejabberdctl status
The node ejabberd@localhost is started with status: started
ejabberd 2.1.11 is running in that node

I couldnt register any users. It says not allowed.

ejabberdctl register admin ejabberd.test password
Can't register user admin@ejabberd.test at node ejabberd@localhost: not_allowed

Can anyone help me on this ?
