ejabberd chat issue

Hi,

Intermittently we are unable to connect to ejabberd chat and fail to get
chat count but we are able to get push notification. If we restart the
ejabberd chat service, problem will still persist but after certain
(approximately 15 minutes) the problem will get resolved automatically. We
would like to know the root cause. Please help.

Hi
how to change presence_broadcast using change_room_option MUC command?
I add mod_muc_admin module:

change_option(Option, Value, Config) ->
    case Option of
presence_broadcast -> Config#config{presence_broadcast = Value};

It changes to (wrong format) {presence_broadcast,'[moderator,participant,visitor]'} not {presence_broadcast,[moderator,participant,visitor]}

Configure ldap authorization in Ejabberd 17

Tell me please, set up and installed centos 7 deployed ejabberd, when you turn it on without any settings, then everything works, I start to do authorization on ldap, problems start, this error pops up

Authenticating clients using an external database instead of creating accounts

Hi,

The normal process which I have followed to connect a client to ejabberd is:
1. Create an account on the server using ejabberdctl register command which takes as input both user name and password
2. Client logs in to the server by providing the credentials used in the ejabberdctl register command

However, if I already have an external database of users, I may want to use those credentials to login rather than creating an account on ejabberd (using the ejabberdctl register command).

Need help upgrading from old apt-get version in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

I'm attempting to upgrade ejabberd installed via apt-get in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to the latest version, but I'm not having any luck. I've already screwed up two VM instances and had to revert to backups.

As people probably know, the default Ubuntu repositories do not have the latest version of ejabberd; it currently has 16.01. However, the latest ejabberd version is 17.04.

What is the proper way to perform the upgrade to 17.04?

Hello .
I am working with ejabberd 16.01. and I am using php-jabber-rpc () for creating jabber user through php.

php-jabber-rpc requires ejabberd_xmlrpc. Thus I setup ejabberd with ejabberd_xmlrpc. But when I try to use ejabberd_xmlrpc I have the following error in ejabberd log file.

Need Help

Hello friends. I need your help. I'm noob.
I installed ejabberd, launched, threw ports and everything kind of worked. I use the bundle Ejabberd + Astrachat. I read that ejabberd supports jingle. When I call from 3g 4g, I get a connection reset and a "MISS CALLED" message. If at least one of the Astrachat customers is on the same network, where the server then the calls go without any problems. Help me to understand . Thank you. Sorry for my English.

Enabling listener for mod_http_upload breaks web_admin

I'm using ejabberd 17.04 installed with the binary installer in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

If I enable the listener for mod_http_upload, web_admin stops working. I had this working before with 16.01 installed from the default repositories.

Relevant ejabberd.yml settings:

Roster file format and roster vs registered users

Hi

Two part question:

1) What is the current format of the roster file in 17.04? I know that around 15.xx it seems to have gone to this:

[{<<"admin">>,<<"localhost">>,<<"Friend">>,<<"Admin">>},{<<"vipul">>,<<"localhost">>,<<"Friend">>,<<"Vipul">>}].

2) Is the difference between a roster and a registered user simply that the former is a list while the latter is also a registered account within mnesia/db backend?

How to notification regarding change in connection of client

I want to get notification/event on the ejabberd server whenever a client goes online or offline (connection status changes) as I want to take some action based on it. So my question is how to achieve this? Do I need to add/modify in the ejabberd code for this or there are modules available for this?

send message as user to another conference chat

hoi, i have some jabber server running and in recent times i used ejabberctl send-message to send messages to users,
but this seems to be gone, is this right?

more specific, i have a normal jabber account which is logged in in some conference channel on another server. This works fine so far,
is it possible to easily send some message as this user to the conference channel ?
something that i can pipe or script with ejabberctl in bash shell would be awesome.

pubsub nodetree and hometree plugin explanation

Hi. I am struggling with the difference between the nodeTree "tree" setting and the hometree plugin. I have done some googling and watched Christophe Romain's pubsub video but i just need something clarified i guess.

Nodetree being set to "tree" will ensure that all nodes are created in a tree fashion when they are stored - i get that.

restore backup under new host name

Hi all,
Is this possible? I have a backup of a database that is under example: abc.com and want to restore this and change the domain to xyz.com while keeping all login credentials for users as they are in abc.com.

Ejabberd scaling/clustering

Hi! I just want to understand how scaling works, so for instance, I have 2 servers with two A records pointing to them: x.domain.com and y.domain.com
I currently have x setup and working with SRV records like so:

_xmpp-client._tcp.domain.com. 18000 IN SRV 0 5 5222 x.domain.com.
_xmpp-server._tcp.domain.com. 18000 IN SRV 0 5 5269 x.domain.com.
_xmpp-server._tcp.conference.domain.com. 18000 IN SRV 0 5 5269 x.domain.com.

So, I would assume that the accompanying records for server y would be:

_xmpp-client._tcp.domain.com. 18000 IN SRV 0 5 5222 y.domain.com.

Error messages

I am new to ejabberd. I have installed it on OpenSUSE 42.2, and get error messages which seem to prevent users from accessing the server via xmpp. I can access the admin console though.

I do have TLS turned on, but not required. The authentication type is internal.
